This event has taken almost two years to plan, but on Saturday, Racquida and Earnest celebrated their 10-year anniversary with a vow renewal celebration fit for an A-list celebrity. It all started with my first phone call from Racquida—a confident, sophisticated, knows-what-she-wants kind of gal. She had been dreaming of this celebration for years, and I was honored that she had chosen me to be her Wedding Planner / Event Designer for such a special occasion.
(Today we are sharing our personal photos, but be on the lookout soon for pictures taken by the professional photographers!)
I love to see everything come together on event day, so it’s fun to share a little of what goes into the behind-the-scenes. Throughout the planning, Racquida and I discussed tons of ideas, pinned event photos, and came up with a glamorous event concept while still keeping the ceremony romantic and meaningful. Here are some of the detailed sketches that would become the wow-factor centerpieces of the reception space. Full bursts of flowers atop modern glass cylinders with a single sparkling strand of crystal lit from below, set upon sequined table linens, and surrounded by the glow of golden candlelight.
Other fun and fancy touches included a decadent dessert table, a chic lounge area, a white dance floor with custom monogram, a step-and-repeat style photo booth, a fraternity brother hymn sung to the bride by the groom and his fraternity brothers, and a surprise dance set performed by authentic Soca Dancers as a nod to the bride’s Trinidad heritage.
This was a gathering of the couple’s closest friends and family, and a true celebration of LOVE. All of us here at Dreamday Weddings and Events wish Racquida and Earnest all the best as they begin their NEXT 10 years of wedded bliss!
